Bald eagles build nests in the fall, and this one and his/her mate, were relentlessly going back and forth from their nest to the trees around it, breaking large branches while in flight, to gather strong “joists” for their nest. What is critical though is for the pair to initially pick a really strong branch to support the nest which can grow to be really heavy.
